David Hunter is a seasoned and respected professional. He has directed and participated in hundreds of leadership development, strategic planning, corporate restructuring, coaching and team building projects throughout the United States and in the Middle East. He is the owner and principal of David Hunter Associates, Inc., (DHA), which he founded in 1994. DHA is a solutions oriented professional services firm dedicated to improving organization, management and employee performance.
After completing his undergraduate work at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, David earned a Master of Hospital Administration from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Beginning his consulting career with Cresap, McCormick and Paget (CMP), a leading New York based international consulting firm, (now merged with Towers, Perrin) David was made a partner at age 34, the youngest person to have achieved that distinction at the time. David has also seen the executive suite from an insider’s perspective. Early in his career he served as Associate Director of the Hospital of the Thomas Jefferson University, a 700 bed teaching hospital in Philadelphia. Upon relocating to the Pacific Northwest in 1989 David served for five years as Vice President of Strategic Planning at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle, WA. In 2002 he successfully completed 125 hours of study and was certified as a corporate coach by Corporate Coach University. Subsequently, to offer a wider range of service to his clients, he became affiliated with Target Training International (TTI) a research-based problem-solving company. Through TTI David has achieved certification as a Behavior, Values and Attributes Analyst, enabling him to offer a wide range of validated assessments to individuals, teams and organizations. In July 2007 David enhanced his coaching expertise by achieving designation as a Certified Master Coach from the Behavioral Coaching Institute, recognized around the world as a leading developer of behavioral change coaching models, tools and techniques. David gives of his professional talents to his local church and other organizations. In 2005 and 2006 he received the President’s Award from TTI Performance Systems for his outstanding services to the community. Currently, he serves as Board Chairman at Eastside Academy, a high school for at-risk youth and has extensive involvement in lay leadership at First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue, WA. Formerly he served for nine years on the Board of Emerald Heights, a continuing care retirement community in Redmond. For relaxation, David enjoys long distance cycling, working out, walking and reading. David is a member of the American Hospital Association, Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, Forum for Healthcare Strategists, the International Coaching Council and the International Association for Coaches. |
